Colt “Wells Fargo” Baby Dragoon Revolver (C15154)
Colt “Wells Fargo” Baby Dragoon Revolver with one piece ivory grips (antique ivory) manufactured in 1855. Barrel length 3”. Action works perfectly. Gun has sharp edges, no abuse. Barrel address is perfect, cylinder is worn and scene is not visible. All numbers match except cylinder which is not visible. Grips are excellent. Screws are all excellent. This is a fine example of the hard to find “Wells Fargo”. Note: The term for this model “Wells Fargo” was a common descriptive for a three inch Baby Dragoon with a round trigger guard. They were said to be guns for Wells Fargo Agents, but no concrete evidence supports this. In any event, collectors for at least 60 or 70 years have referred to these revolvers as “Wells Fargo” model and are considered to be a proper revolver for a Colt Collection.
