Price: $1,525.00

This U.S. Model 1922 MI rifle has a barrel dated 7 - 26. The bore is excellent and bright. There is a Redfield peep front sight and Lyman 48 receiver rear sight. The receiver top model marking which read MODEL OF 1922 has been altrered to read MODEL OF 1926. The gun has approx. 98% of its professional blue refinish with spotting and light pitting in some areas. The front barrel band has had the loop that covers the barrel removed. This, essentially, makes the barrel free floating. About 1" to the rear of the band a 1" wide steel strip that circles the outside of the stock has been inletted into the stock. The reasion for this is unknown. The rifle is in a NRA style (no finger groove) stock which has a length of pull of approx. 13". It has the heavy NRA type butt plate. Under the buttplate in the trap is a steel sight mount which fits the left side of the rectiver and has a two hole sight mounting surface just to the rear of the rectiver. Again, the application is unknown. The bolt body is numbered to the receiver and it has a headless cocking piece installed. The stock, as modified and described above, is fine with very light wear. The rifle has the correct M1 magazine. With the exception that the safety does not function with the headless cocking piece, the action functions correctly. This Model of 1922 M1 has some intreresting modifications and is worthy of further research.
