Colt 1878 DA 1902 “Alaskan” model .45 LC (C13598)

Colt 1878 DA 1902 “Alaskan” model .45 LC caliber revolver. Made in 1900. This gun is in .45 LC with a 5½” barrel. Metal has a grayish brown patina. Grips show a good amount of wear. These guns are RAC inspected and were sold to the U.S. military. All of these have over sized trigger guards. These were actually used in the Philippines and the term “Alaskan” is a misnomer since early collectors assume the oversized trigger guard was to accommodate a Soldier’s gloves.
