Volcanic & Henry

Made between 1855 and 1857. 41 caliber with a 8” barrel. Very fine gun with 80% of the original finish on the barrel. Brass frame is nicely patinaed. Grips are excellent with normal handling wear. Action works well. Numbers are all matching. Bore is excellent.

Early Brass Frame Henry Rifle. Serial number 235 made in 1860. Nice sharp gun with a smooth brown patina. Barrel has crisp edges with traces of blue in the flutes. Brass is untouched and has a dark mustard color patina. Action works perfectly, and the bore has strong rifling with spots of pitting. Wood is very good; tow of butt plate has a professional repair. Made in 1865. Very Fine example of a Henry in very fine condition. The barrel of this gun has 97% of the blue which is a mixture of original blue and some restored finish. Frame is nice and sharp. Wood is excellent. This gun is all matching. This gun was made early in 1865, so it is till War time production.

Serial Number 7. 41 caliber with an 8” barrel. This gun has a dark chocolate colored patina throughout. All markings and engraving are visible. Grips are original, and in good overall condition. Action works well. Follower is a replacement....

Smith & Wesson Iron Frame Volcanic. Made in 1854-1855. 8” Barrel in .41 caliber. Metal has a mostly gray patina with some spots of light pitting. This is an early gun, serial number 7. Grips are very good with small chips at the corners of the bottom. Action works perfect. Bore is surprisingly good with pitting in the grooves. Very nice example!

Smith Jennings Repeater 3rd Model Rifle. The scarcest of an already scarce gun. Metal has a gray patina with scattered pitting. Receiver still has nice sharp engraving. Action works perfectly. These guns were an important step in the development of the Winchester rifles. The 3rd model hardly ever comes on the market. Very rare piece!

Rare Smith & Wesson Large Frame Volcanic Pistol. Serial number 40. Nice sharp gun with traces of the some of the original finish on the barrel. The barrel has spots of light pitting that are very minor. Frame is factory engraved and has nice sharp engraving. Grips are excellent. Action works perfectly!

Rare Smith & Wesson Large Frame Pistol.   Serial number 109. Nice sharp gun with nice clear markings on the barrel. The metal has a nice even gray patina. The frame has nice sharp factory engraving. The hammer has traces of case colors. Grips are very fine. The left hand side of the grip has a small repair. Action works perfectly.

Inscribed New Haven Arms Volcanic carbine. 16½” Barrel with a dark gray patina. Barrel is nice and sharp with some light pitting. Frame is excellent with a nice dark even patina. Frame is inscribed “Aaron Straus Fish/ Baltimore/ 1837*1863”. Wood is excellent. We have not been able to find any information on an Aaron Fish in Baltimore during this period. Beautiful Volcanic carbine. 16” barrel with 95% of the original blue on the barrel. Frame and Buttplate are nickeled. Frame has 65% of the nickel with the main loss on the right hand side of the frame. Wood is excellent. Bore is excellent. Great gun worthy of a top collection!

Very Fine New Haven Small Frame Volcanic Pistol. Beautiful gun! Barrel has 90% original blue. Frame is very fine with light handling marks. Grips are excellent. There is not much to not like on the gun!

Factory Engraved Small Frame New Haven Volcanic Pistol. Very fine example with ivory grips. Barrel is nice and sharp. Markings have been refreshed. Barrel has been refinished, but it is a very nice job. Frame is factory engraved and has around 50% of the silver. Very nice gun!  

Volcanic Large Frame Navy Pistol. Nice sharp gun! This gun was made by the Volcanic Arms Company and is marked so on the barrel. The barrel is nice and sharp with a dark gray patina with some blue mixed in. Grips are very good, but there is a repair on the inside of the right-hand grip. Frame is very good. Nice sharp Volcanic Navy!

Smith & Wesson Small Frame Volcanic. Serial number 59. 2nd Model with a rounded muzzle. Beautiful gun with excellent original brown finish on the barrel. The frame is nice and sharp and traces of original blue. Grips are excellent. All numbers match. Bore has some pitting, but is very good overall, Very nice gun!  

Very Rare Smith & Wesson Volcanic From Roy Jinks Collection. .41 Caliber, 6” part round, part octagon barrel with a bright near excellent bore.
